Review: Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint & Lift & Flex Concealer

I finally purchased both the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint & Lift & Flex Concealer that have been on my wishlist for the longest time. I had heard mixed reviews, so I didn’t have any expectations and just wanted to enjoy trying some new products from an artist I admire. Because of this mindset, I found myself very surprised by how much I enjoyed both products. I have mostly used eye and cheek colour products from Danessa, so it was fun to try some complexion products.

Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint (shade 4) – Β£42.50 for 45ml Cult Beauty & Sephora UK

I fell in love with this upon first application! This is honestly one of the most skin-like foundations I have ever put on my face, but if your natural skin looked like glass. It has medium coverage, skin-like, dewy finish and is long-wearing. I have maturing combination skin, so I lean towards more dewy foundations and mattify where needed with a powder. Oily skin types might not like this, as it does produce oil in the t-zone throughout the day. However, Danessa does have a water powder serum that’s meant to be great at keeping oils at bay and of course, her Blurring Balm Powder to help reduce shine. Both are on my list to pick up at some point.

I selected my shade online and chose shade 4. It is my perfect match! Come winter, I might need shade 3. As a light-medium olive-toned complexion, shade 4 leans neutral with a slight touch of warmth. It looks peachy in the swatch, but doesn’t look overly yellow on my skin. I have never had a complexion product melt into my skin so perfectly! The texture and finish of this skin tint remind me of an old fav, the discontinued Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation, only more elevated. It’s a skin-care-meets-makeup hero, a tinted moisturiser with the coverage of a foundation.

This applies best when working on the back of the hand to warm up the product and applying in sections using a dense buffing brush. Going in, applying straight onto the face, it can look heavy if you apply too much product. A little goes a long way, so I advise working in sections and building up coverage if needed. I find this works well with water-based primers, due to its moisture-enriching ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane and & Cactus Extract. Plus Collagen peptides to plump the skin and add a beautiful lit-from-within glow. My technique can be viewed in this video.

My review of the @DanessaMyricksBeauty Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint in shade 4 on 41 year old skin. I have tested this out pretty much daily for past few weeks and I will say that I am obsessed! It’s one of the most skin like tints I have ever used! It’s flatters my olive skin tone and looks like my own skin, but more perfected 😍 I definitely want to try more of Danessa’s complexion products. Blog post will be live on my blog tomorrow (link in bio). #skintint #skintintreview #foundationreview #lightmediumolive #danessamyricks @danessamyricksbeauty.uk @danessamyricks_europe

Overall, I would say this is by far one of the best new complexion products I have tested in the past few years. If you have normal, dry, combo and mature skin, I highly recommend it. If you have oily skin, use a good mattifying primer first.

Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Lift & Flex Concealer (shade 5) – Β£36 for 9.4ml Cult Beauty & Sephora UK

The concealer is a unique texture; it almost feels like an elastic film that smooths out the under-eyes. It’s hydrating with great spreadability that moves with your skin but doesn’t enhance fine lines. So many concealers tend to catch in lines and look dry and crepey, not this concealer. The hydrating, flexible texture took some getting used to after wearing the Natasha Denona concealer all year. I really enjoy this with the skin tint and on days I want lighter makeup.

Shade 5 does run a little peachy-yellow, which I find to be brightening on me. I will probably pick up shade 6 for a neutral tone for the face. I like to blend this concealer with a brush and then my fingers. I find it can dry down quickly and set’s itself. Yet once it dries down, unlike other matte concealers, it still feels hydrating and fresh on the skin. I love that it has Caffeine to help wake up tired eyes, Centella Asiatica, which soothes the skin and helps with barrier function and antioxidants to help with ageing and discolouration. I’m excited to see how much difference this concealer will make to my under-eyes over time. This concealer is definitely one for the ladies (or gents) who have natural eye creases, or mature eyes with fine lines and wrinkles.
