About Me

Hi there, I’m Jamey, a 40 year old, UK-based blogger… welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I started blogging back in 2013 during my youthful 20’s; Mostly talking about domestic violence awareness, local businesses and navigating life as a single mom. I soon found a love for beauty and it has since become a huge passion of mine.

Now at 40, I’ve started up a blog once again, renamed ‘PMATB’ to document two of the things I’m most passionate about… collecting pretty minerals and sharing my love for all things beauty related, with a sprinkle of other lifestyle content. Here I can talk more in depth about my passions, than platforms like TikTok and Instagram will allow me, with you likeminded individuals.

When I am not blogging, I am single-handedly raising three of my four children (between the ages of 11-17) and two cats 2 & 8. My eldest (20) has now flown the nest. Together we reside in a University-popular Cambridgeshire city. Where we relocated in 2023 after almost a decade in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. I use my spare time to volunteer in my community, mostly with children, the elderly and through my church.

I am a Christian by faith, and my heart burns bright for my lord and saviour, Jesus Christ. I am a born again Christian, after being baptised and pledging myself to God in September 2023. My faith is incredibly important to me, my church is equally important and I try my best to live as best as I can in a Christ like way. Which is not always easy with today’s worldly distractions.

Other hobbies of mine include, collecting minerals and crystals from all over the world, collecting pretty vintage trinkets, painting, doing peoples makeup, cooking, exploring different restaurants (as I’m a huge foodie), volunteering in my community, reading a good romance or mystery novel, watching lifestyle videos on youtube, listening to music loud through my headphones (its like the noisy world falls away), long walks out in nature, hiking and running, going to the cinema, listening to thought provoking, spiritual & educational podcasts and playing video games (my favourites being The Sims 4, King’s Choice, Casino Inc, Mortal Kombat, RentPlease!Landlord and Two Point Hospital).

I have been playing with makeup since 2010… investing in skincare since 2014 and collecting pretty crystals and minerals since 2019.

I occasionally accept PR Products to try out, but I am super fussy and mostly only accept PR from brands I already know and love. I am a firm believer in putting my money where my mouth is! Over the last few years I have stopped purchasing excessive amounts of makeup and skincare, as I just found it so wasteful. After all makeup and skincare expire! Because I am more picky, I can afford to be completely transparent and honest. So, please note that I wont give fake reviews for views or PR. Please only contact me if you value complete transparency and constructive criticism. More so since the cost of living crisis we are in, parting ways with money is more thought about, and I don’t condone consumerism in excess. I love finding highstreet/drugstore gems that are accessible for everyone. I do sometimes use affiliate links.
